Purpose of Job
• Carry out routine and non-routine machinery condition monitoring data collection using data collectors and computerized CM systems with direction and support from the Sr. Technician.
• Carry out trouble-shooting, failure investigation, shop and site rotor balancing, borescopic inspection, lube oil collection, performance testing and commissioning checks of newly installed equipment..
Principal Accountabilities
1) Asset related:

• Execute Field Maintenance activities in accordance with maintenance schedule / plan.
• Execute preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
• Troubleshoot abnormalities arising in the plant and oilfield equipment.
• Execute all assigned work tasks in line with agreed plant operating philosophies, and in line with current Maintenance Craft Procedures and work practices.
• Where applicable, provide input into the 90-day and 14-day planning cycles.

2) Business Processes related:
• Carry out routine and non-routine Condition Monitoring activities effectively and safely.
• Collect vibration and operational parameters and upload into the Machine Analyst database.
• Review all exception reports in the database on daily basis.

3) Discipline Activities:

• Carry out dynamic balancing, turbine borescope inspection, lube oil collection & analysis and gas turbines/gas compressors & pumps performance evaluation
• Update overhauls and bearings change events into the history database. Review daily trip events (or failure events) and coordinate with production teams to carry out necessary actions
• Identify and report machines with chronic problems and recommend necessary actions
• Carry out commissioning checks of newly installed rotating equipment
• Carry out troubleshooting and failure investigations. Coordinate with area asset teams in troubleshooting activities as necessary
• Support asset teams in troubleshooting and implementation of improvement initiatives
• Develop rotating equipment technical data bank
• Maintain and improve ConMon HSE performance through daily toolbox meeting
• Coordinate with maintenance scheduler and asset teams in prioritizing, scheduling and alignment of ConMon jobs with their planned activities

4) HSE related:

• Maintain a high level of safety awareness and standards in all daily duties and tasks and guide the subordinate staff on safe working practices.
• Proactively manage all HSE aspects of maintenance activity execution and
compliance with directorate HSE plan
• Ensure healthy safeguarding systems for minimum production interruption
• Ensure HSE and PTW systems are followed before starting a job, ensure proper use of tools and PPE, conduct regular site visits, advice co-workers on potential hazards, check safety equipment, notify management of unsafe working conditions, report HSE incidents, actively participate in HSE meetings.

5) Process safety related:

• Ensure that Critical Tasks related to Asset Integrity-Process Safety Management (AI-PSM), as defined in the Procedural Manual, are undertaken and executed.
• Apply AI-PSM principles in all activities.
• Act at all times in accordance with the PDO Statement of Policy on AI-PSM.
• Identify and comply with AI-PSM responsibilities as documented in the AI-PSM System.

6) Other accountabilities:
• Be a member of the Duty Rota.
• Maintain a positive image and actively promote and participate in social activities.
• As member of the of the Asset team fulfil all given tasks which are in line with the overall requirements of the Asset team.

Requirements
• HND in Mechanical engineering Discipline
• ISO CAT-I in condition Monitoring
• Minimum of 4-6 years experience in the Mechanical Engineering discipline of which a significant portion has been spent in Condition Monitoring and rotating equipment maintenance / engineering
Challenges
• Ensure quality of vibration/performance data collected and accuracy of reports and recommendations
• Maintain beneficial relationships with other disciplines such as production operators and maintenance technicians
• Contain costs and strive towards cost reductions by minimizing maintenance downtime and avoid repetitive equipment failures
