Responsibilities:
Sales Support & Customer Service:
Supporting the Sales Team in pursuing new Sales Opportunities, including Customer presentations and meetings with Design Institutes, Technical Advisors or Owner’s Engineers
Prepare and deliver responses to technical customer enquiries and technical due diligences
Reviewing technical requirements. Providing deviations to technical requirements
Provide recommendation on turbine configuration in order to comply with technical requirements, optimise customer and Vestas’ business cases, and to enhance Vestas’ competiveness
Provide input to Sales on technical solutions including turbine selection, options, Power Plant Solutions, etc.
Coordinate all technical input for tender responses from other technical functions and provide a cohesive technical solution to Sales
Internal Reviews and Processes
Prepare and manage technical reviews as required within Region and where necessary with TSS
Prepare, submit and manage Requests for Non-standard Products using appropriate internal processes
Prepare technical costs for tender (non-SAP costs) submission
Escalate and seek internal approval for technical commitments in Turbine Supply Agreement outside of approved mandate, where necessary
Contract Negotiations and Deal Support
Negotiate, on behalf of Vestas, all technical aspects of Turbine Supply Agreements within approved mandates
Under supervision, take ownership of all technical annexures of the contract and work with Legal Team to ensure their accuracy and suitability
Product Management and Market Support
Provide on-going market requirements to Product Management
Develop and maintain industry networks, especially within Design Institutes and Certification Bodies
Lead or support local certification and compliance activities for turbines and related products
Engage with, present to, and influence Design Institutes and EPC Contractors
Qualifications & Competencies:
2 years’ experience in a technical sales support role , ideally within the wind industry, but could also include heavy machinery, power plant equipment or similar
Experience in the electricity generation sector would be highly regarded
Essential Skills:
Good understanding of project financial drivers and modelling
Ability to think strategically and optimise value
Good understanding of product development processes would be an advantage
Highly developed communication skills, both verbal and written in English and Mandarin.
Commercial and legal knowledge from heavy equipment sales, construction or related industry
Strong time-management skills. Ability to work across multiple projects simultaneously
Attention to detail
Ability to participate effectively as part of a cross-functional team.
Intermediate MS Office, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Ability to work remotely with little supervision
Ability to work in complex and pressure-filled situations.
Ability to work internationally with large demanding customers to support the business
