Federal Land Commission (FLC) is a statutory body of the Federal Government created under Para 4-A of the Land Reforms Regulation, 1972 (MLR-115) and reconstituted under section 23 of Land Reforms Act, 1977. Historically speaking, the Federal Land Commission has been committed to the introduction and implementation of Land Reforms in the country. Federal Land Commission is performing its judicial functions as a Tribunal, sitting severally, provided with concurrent and revisionary powers under Land Reforms Laws viz. MLR-64/1959 and Land Reforms Act, 1977(11/77). FLC consist of one Chairman (with the status of Federal Minister) and three Members having been delegated with equivalent judicial powers to take cognizance of the cases of land reforms. Chairman being chief of the organization is the competent authority of the Commission in administrative matters and takes the policy decisions in consultation with his sub-ordinate officers i.e. Sr. Member and Secretary, Federal Land Commission. Senior Member has been declared as the Head of Department in financial matters, who is assisted by the Secretary, FLC being Head of the office. FLC has its own recruitment rules i.e. Federal Land Commission Employees (Service) Rules, 1992 wherein Chairman, FLC is competent to make appoints in the FLC from BS-17 to BS-20.
