Responsibilities
Delivery of relevant Bill of Quantities and get involved in cooperation with the estimators, estimating and tendering for new projects. Duties also include cost evolution control, tender review and contract administration.
Compile monthly reports in accordance with Company standard procedures.
Ensure timeously submission of claims in accordance with provisions of contract.
Ensure that areas of concern are highlighted relating to contract costs and margins.
Draft pre and post contract correspondence in conjunction with Project Managers.
Identify if material purchases are scope or variation.
Ensure control of client invoicing by submission of invoices and tracking.
Administer payments to subcontractors and suppliers by reviewing submissions in terms of contracts with subcontractors and suppliers.
Ensure relevant legislation in relation to financial administration as compiled.
Resolve disputes in relation to client / subcontractor issues.
Prepare reports on commercial and contractual issues for the Project and Commercial Manager.
Monitor site procurement on receipt of regular reports.
Any other adhoc duties as assigned from time to time.
Education and Skills
B.Sc Degree in Quantity Surveying.
Formal qualifications / affiliations to RICS, IQS, MICES or MCIOB.
Minimum 3 -5 years of experience in quantity survey functions for contracting industry operations.
Knowledgeable of current industry and technical developments.
Good communication skills and strong English capability.
Computer literate especially with Microsoft Word and Excel.
